The Mortlake powerstation is located on 120 hectares, the actual plant taking up only 20 hectares. The 100 hectares is there if they ever need to extend the powerplant.

When finding a location to place a gas power plant many things need to be taken into account. These things are that it needs to be relatively close to the offshore/land gasplant. It also needs to be a large area.

The Macarthur wind farm is located 16km east of Macarthur.

The Marcarthur wind farm covers approximately 5,500 hectares of agricultural land. This land is dual-use which means that the land is also used for sheep and cattle grazing.

It is hard to find a good location for wind farms. A large amount of area is needed and it must be somewhere that will be accessible to wind. Vegetation and wildlife also needs to be taken into account.
